Quilting Valentines Printable

Quilting Valentines Printable

I'm not a person who is super into Valentines Day. However, I will never turn down the chance to tell someone they are awesome. And if it is in the form of bad pun, then even better. So I was thinking: how do you tell a fellow quilter Happy Valentines Day? How about with some cheesy (in a good way) little cards to give out to friends! I created these 3 Valentines in a print version or you can download them each in a digital version, perfect for emailing. I hope you will share them and … [Read more...]

Barn Door QAL Update – WIP Wednesday

Barn Door QAL Update – WIP Wednesday

I've been complaining that this is the first January ever without any snow. Well, I woke up this morning to 6 inches of fresh powder! Wahoo! I didn't want to expose my precious camera to the snow, so I hope these iphone photos of my progress on the barn door quilt do it justice. I really love it. I ran into some trouble with some of the ends not being quite long enough (I'm looking at you, chambray!), so I decided to cut the end pieces longer and then trim down once I get the pieces … [Read more...]

I am still adjusting to my new life out in the country. I really don't get cell service. I drive 45 minutes away once a week for groceries. The most exciting thing that happened today is that I saw two coyotes. It is weird that this is my life. But I'm loving it for the most part. I do a majority of my fabric shopping online, so it was a treat to go the closest "big" city (over an hour away) last month in search of fabric. At the end of my shopping day, I wandered into a weird building full … [Read more...]

An Interesting Challenge

An Interesting Challenge

Remember last year when I vowed to send a shot of modernity (and maybe a shot of tequila ;)) to my local quilt show? Well the time has come friends. And I am freaking out a little. I decided I wanted to enter their quilt challenge (winning fabric money? yes please), but this came with some rules. And with some fabric... I have to feature this fabric in a quilt no bigger than 24x24. I am no art quilter so I have a feeling some tiny piecing is in my future. This year's theme is "Life … [Read more...]

This week I stashed a few basics. I'm really making an effort to get more of these types of fabrics because I realized they are my favorite thing to sew with. I'm basically obsessed with essex yarn dyed linen/cotton so I was super excited to get to see the denim-blue in person. It doesn't disappoint. I am thinking about backing the barn door quilt in it. I also got a tiny piece of the Briar Rose strawberries because they are just too cute. I imagine this sneaking in to a baby girl's quilt in the … [Read more...]
