Happy June quilt along friends. I hope this post finds you happily sewing the day away. This month's block is the tree or the snowflake for the center of the quilt. And we'll be assembling the center panel ahead of next month's quilt top assembly. We're almost there folks! One of my favorite things about this quilt is the option to choose the center block. It makes the quilt even more versatile in terms of theme and design. The cover quilt for this pattern, for example, uses a tree center and … [Read more...]
Reindeer Ridge Quilt Along – Month 5 – Reindeer
Welcome to Month 5 of the Reindeer Ridge Quilt Along! This is another one of my favorite months because we'll be making these adorable reindeer! If you don't want to make the entire quilt, I also think these would make really cool pillows. This month builds upon some skills we've already done, but it's a little bit different in terms of piecing, so I'll walk you through it a bit. This section is not hard to sew, but requires lots of paying attention. It is easy to get pieces flipped the … [Read more...]

Reindeer Ridge Quilt Along – Month 3 – Fair Isle Chain
Hello quilt-alongers! I hope you have been enjoying making this quilt so far. I am extra excited about this month, because it's the first month we get a large section of the quilt done! I love the magic of sewing the strips together and watching them transform into a fair isle chain. Last month, we completed the first half of Section 3, which was sewing the long strip sets together. Now it is time to sub-cut those strips into columns and re-arrange them to create our design. I'll show … [Read more...]
Reindeer Ridge Quilt Along – Month 2 – Sewing Sections 1-2 and part of 3
I’m so excited to start sewing this month!! If you didn’t get all your fabric cut last month, you can catch up this month, or just cut as we go. This month, we are tackling Sections 1 and 2 and sewing the strips together for the start of Section 3. I wanted to start our sewing time by mentioning that the seam allowance for this pattern is always ¼”. If you are a newer sewist, I recommend taking some fabric scraps and sewing them together, then measuring to make sure you have a ¼” seam. … [Read more...]
Reindeer Ridge Quilt Along – Month 1 – Cutting Fabric
Happy New Year and welcome to the official start of the Reindeer Ridge Quilt Along! If you haven’t read the pre-quilt along post, I recommend reading that first. It has lots of info about the quilt along and ideas for colors and layout. I’m so excited you are here to join in for this quilt along! This month is all about cutting (yay?!). I’ll admit cutting is not my favorite part of the quilting experience, BUT I am much happier when I get everything cut out first, and then I can … [Read more...]
